CHAPEL HILL --- North Carolina (9-0) plays its first road game of the season when the Tar Heels travel to Knoxville to face defending national champion Tennessee Sunday at 7 p.m. Carolina is coming off a 90-72 win over Purdue in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Thursday. Tennessee enters Sunday's Final Four rematch 5-0 after topping Louisiana Tech, 81-60, on Monday. UNC is ranked No. 4 in both the AP poll and the ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll. Tennessee is ranked No. 1 in both polls.

TENNESSEE SERIES NOTES
North Carolina is 3-13 all-time against Tennessee.
The two teams met twice in 2006-07, with Carolina winning 70-57 in Chapel Hill during the regular season and Tennessee winning 56-50 in Cleveland in the national semifinal.
Sunday marks Carolina's first regular season trip to Knoxville since 1986, Sylvia Hatchell's first season at UNC.
Carolina is 0-6 against the Lady Vols in Knoxville and 1-8 away from Chapel Hill in the series.
Of teams that have played Carolina at least 10 times, only Tennessee (13-3), NC State (49-35) and Old Dominion (12-7) have a winning record against the Tar Heels.
Sunday will be the eighth meeting between the two schools that features both head coaches Sylvia Hatchell (760 wins) and Pat Summitt (952), two of the three winningest active coaches in Division I women's basketball. UNC is 2-5 in the previous seven meetings.
Hatchell, a 1974 graduate of Carson-Newman, earned a master's degree in physical education from Tennessee in 1975. Hatchell also coached the UT junior varsity team in 1974-75, Summitt's first season with the Lady Vols.

Tennessee is 5-0 on the season after topping Louisiana Tech, 81-60, on Monday.
The Lady Vols are led in scoring and rebounding by junior Candace Parker, who averages 22.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest.
UT is led by 34th-year head coach Pat Summitt, the winningest coach in Division I basketball history.
