LAS VEGAS --- North Carolina (2-0) hits the road for the first time in 2009-10 when the Tar Heels travel to Las Vegas, Nev., to face UNLV Sunday afternoon at 2 PST at the Cox Pavilion. The game will serve as a homecoming for UNC junior guard Italee Lucas, a native of Las Vegas and a graduate of Centennial High School. Carolina defeated Coastal Carolina, 88-49, at home on Wednesday. UNLV (2-1) is coming off a 97-92 overtime win at Sacramento State on Thursday. Carolina is ranked No. 4 in both the AP poll and the coaches' poll. UNLV is unranked.

UNLV SERIES NOTES
• North Carolina is 2-0 all-time against UNLV.
• UNC is making its second visit to Las Vegas, the first coming during the 2004-05 season. After defeating Villanova in the opening game of the Lady Rebel Shootout, Carolina defeated UNLV, 84-76, in the championship game.
• The only other meeting in the series came during the 1986 NCAA Tournament. UNC defeated UNLV in a second round game in Chapel Hill, 82-76.

NOTING THE LADY REBELS
• UNLV is 2-1 on the season following a 97-92 overtime win at Sacramento State on Thursday.
• The Lady Rebels are led in scoring by freshman guard Kelli Thompson. The Long Beach, Calif., product averages 16.3 points per game, including a career-high 26 in Thursday's win at Sacramento State.
• Sophomore Jamie Smith leads the team in rebounding with 11.0 boards per contest.
