Latta Named To Kodak All-America Squad
March 31, 2007 CLEVELAND, OHIO --- North Carolina senior guard Ivory Latta was named to the NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team, announced on Saturday by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Eastman Kodak Company. The McConnells, S.C., product is the fifth Tar Heel to earn Kodak honors and a two-time member of the squad. After also making the Kodak team last season, Latta joins Tracy Reid as the only two-time honorees in school history. Latta and the rest of the 10-member team were honored at a press conference Saturday morning in Cleveland, where the Tar Heels will face Tennessee in the national semifinals Sunday night at 9:30. Joining Latta from the Atlantic Coast Conference were Duke's Lindsey Harding and Maryland's Crystal Langhorne. Also on the squad were Jessica Davenport (Ohio State), Sylvia Fowles (LSU), Angel McCoughtry (Louisville), Courtney Paris (Oklahoma), Candace Parker (Tennessee), Armintie Price (Ole Miss) and Candice Wiggins (Stanford). Parker was honored as the State Farm Wade Trophy winner. "Throughout the 2006-2007 season, these ten players have been a pleasure to watch and have proven themselves to be deserving of this honor," said WBCA CEO Beth Bass. "The growth of our game is in the hands of many of these young student-athletes and we look forward to watching their future in women's basketball continue to unfold." In addition to Latta, junior forward Erlana Larkins was recognized as a Kodak/WBCA All-America Team Honorable Mention.
