The UNC women's basketball team traveled west to Arizona Wednesday night in preparation for Saturday's game against Arizona State. The Tar Heels tip off against the Sun Devils at 9:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time, 11:30 back home.

After an enthusiastic group of fans saw the Tar Heels off at Carmichael Auditorium Wednesday night, the traveling party - which also includes the Tar Heel pep band and cheerleaders - took a chartered flight from RDU out to Phoenix. After arriving in the early morning hours of Thursday, the team got some sleep then held a late morning practice at the Student Recreation Center on the ASU campus. In the evening, the group visited Rawhide Western Town and Steakhouse for a taste of the Old West.

Friday's schedule includes an open practice and press conference at Wells Fargo Arena, site of Saturday's game. In the other Tempe regional semifinal, second-seeded Baylor will meet third-seeded Minnesota. The winners face off Monday night.
