- In only her second start of the season, Wynter Whitley scored seven points and had five rebounds and three steals. She also hit her fourth three-pointer of the season in the first half.
- Alison Bales'16 points is the most she has had since she scored 21 points at Wake Forest on Jan. 19. She also had five rebounds and six blocks. Bales scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half.
- Chante Black had her 11th double-figure rebound game of the season as she finished with 11 boards.
- Duke advances to the Sweet 16 for the eighth straight year.
- The Blue Devils won an NCAA-best 11th game over a ranked opponent.
- Monique Currie had 21 points in the 13th time this season she has scored at least 20.
- Duke won its 30th game to make 2005 the fifth consecutive year that the team has won at least 30 games.
- Chante Black registered 22 rebounds in the first two rounds.
- Duke will next face Georgia on Saturday in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Boston College Notes
- Clare Droesch became BC's all-time leader in games played (126).
- Droesch scored 23 points, giving her 46 in the two NCAA games. She has 116 in her NCAA Tournament career.
- The senior co-captain finishes her career with 1,136 points, 12th on the all-time list.
- The team shot 7-14 from the three-point range. The Eagles have hit a three-pointer in every game this season and in 55 consecutive contests.
- Brooke Queenan scored 15 points (7-for-10) in the first half. She had 17 in the game to go along with nine rebounds. It was her second consecutive game in double figures. She has scored in double figures 18 times this season. The team is 14-4 when she hits double digits.
- Queenan scored 34 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in the two games in Chapel Hill.
- BC trailed 36-30 at halftime. The team is 0-8 when it is behind at the half.
- There were four ties in the first half - the last one was 24-24 with 5:18 remaining.
- BC is now 2-3 in second-round tournament games. The Eagles fail to make the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in three years.
- Kindyll Dorsey hit three three-point field goals, matching a career high.
- Sarah Marshall played all 40 minutes. It was the fifth time this season Marshall had played 40 or more minutes.
