North Carolina Notes

  • Leah Metcalf's three-pointer with 4:45 left in the game pushed her over the 1,000-point mark for her career. She is the 23rd North Carolina player to reach that milestone after finishing today's game with eight points and tallying 1,004 for her career.
  • Carolina's 10 blocks were a team season-high, and LaToya Pringle's six were an individual season-high.
  • Carolina advances to the 11th Sweet 16 in school history, the first since 2002. The Tar Heels will play Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz., on Saturday in a regional semifinal game.
