LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - North Carolina sophomore Nick Tenpenny captured first place at 174 pounds Saturday at the Mat Town Open, hosted by Lock Haven University. Tenpenny, who is redshirting this season and wrestled unattached, went 4-0 on the afternoon with a pair of major decisions.

Tenpenny, a native of Bayville, N.J., scored an 18-9 major over Shane Smith of The Ville wrestling club in the final.

Fellow Tar Heel redshirts Kyle Kiss and Ziad Haddad also competed. Kiss went 2-2 at 165, while Haddad was 2-2 at heavyweight.
