Coach Bill Lam's 2001 Carolina Wrestling Camp
Our main goal is to make you a better wrestler while teaching you the elements needed to be successful on the junior high, high school, college and Olympic levels. Campers who attend our camps leave with an understanding of up-to-date techniques and gain valuable experience completing drills and gaining advice that will enable them to reach the championship level. Both technique and team camps are designed to meet the need of each individual team and coach. Come join us this summer for the ultimate wrestling camp experience! What you'll gain by attending Carolina Wrestling Camps. * Camp counselors that provide personal attention and guidance to each camper. * Mental and psychological concepts which will aid in the development or each camper into a complete wrestler. * Competition with some of the best wrestlers from N.C., S.C., Va., Ga., Tenn., Ohio, Pa. and N.J. * Outstanding techniques along with drills that incorporate those new skills. * Conditioning and training methods for your peak performance. * Weight control advice on how to properly achieve maximum potential. Combo Camp July 12-15 The Combo camp will be a combination of the Team camp and the Technique Camp. It will feature live competition in addition to one-on-one individual instruction. This camp is crucial for the sophomore or junior who plans to wrestle in college. Individuals can attend and be placed on teams, or teams can come and work on specific details. Technique Camp July 15-18 This camp is designed for the individuals' needs and will be divided into three separate groups -- Beginners (grade school), Intermediate and Advanced. At Carolina, we teach a philosophy and system that works for the beginner as well as for the high school state champ and college All-American. We encourage coaches to come with their team or have as many attend as possible, because teams who learn how to drill properly with correct technique can improve at a rapid rate, thus setting forth a solid for the less experienced or junior high wrestlers. In addition to learning advanced techniques and drills, a tournament will be held to give all the wrestlers the chance to get valuable experience from live competition. Encourage your team and teammates to attend and experience what it takes to be a successful wrestler. Team Concepts Camp July 8-12 The 2001 Team Concept Camp proves to be a premier summer event for high school competitors. This summer we plan to host a first come/first served, 32-team dual meet format wrestling camp. With commitments from top-ranked teams in N.C., S.C., Va., Ohio, Tenn., Pa. and N.Y., we expect a week of very competitive wrestling. In the past, coaches have expressed the benefit of experiencing competition against such top-rated teams as "extremely valuable." This experience will not only benefit your team technically and strategically, it will help your team unity and maturity. This year we are requesting a minimum enrollment of ten wrestlers per team. Ideally, we would prefer 13 per team (one wrestler per weight class) but will fill empty weight classes accordingly. We also have added a mandatory $500 deposit per team for this exceptional week of wrestling. Upon your request or deposit you will receive more specific information. Call or write to confirm your entry today. Coaching Staff Bill Lam Former National Coach of the Year Head Coach Bill Lam is in his 28th season as head coach at the University of North carolina.
