CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The University of North Carolina wrestling team held off a late Navy surge and took a 23-18 victory over the Midshipmen Saturday night at Carmichael Auditorium. UNC improved to 6-4 while Navy dropped to 7-3.

Skyler Holman recorded the only Tar Heel victory by fall on the night and improved his individual record to 28-2 on the year. Holman pinned Drew Smith in 2:10 in the 125-pound bout. In the 184-pound match, UNCs Nick Richmond went into sudden death extra time with Mike Bigrigg and captured a 7-5 decision. Other Tar Heels claiming victories on the night were Brad Byers at 133 lbs., Jamie Groudle at 165 lbs., Corey Bell at 174 lbs., and Matt Kenny at Heavyweight.

The Tar Heels will try for their fifth straight victory Sunday as they host Ohio University in a 4 p.m. matchup at Carmichael Auditorium.
