2006-07: Combined with Spencer Nadolsky to give the Tar Heels one of the nation's top heavyweight tandems • Posted an 11-6 mark on the season and was 1-1 in dual action • Recorded one pin • Went 5-1 at the Michigan State Open en route to a third-place finish • Took fourth at the Nittany Lion Open 4-2 record • Wrestled in duals against Purdue and Wisconsin in the ACC/Big Ten Clash.
2005-06: Redshirt season • Went 10-9 wrestling unattached at five tournaments • Recorded seven pins • Earned All-America honors in April with a fifth-place finish at the University Freestyle Nationals.
Prep: Four-year letterman at Pennridge High School in Perkasie, Pa. • Posted a career prep record of 131-31 • Pennsylvania AAA state champion at 215 pounds, which was Pennridge's first state title • Finished his senior season with a 40-1 record • Rated fifth among 215-pounders by InterMat in their High School Senior Rankings • Also participated in baseball, football, soccer basketball and track and field.
