Carolina Opens Play at NCAA Singles Championship

College Station, Texas - Carolina junior Raian Luchici will compete in the NCAA Singles Championships at Texas A&M University on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. EST. Luchici, currently ranked 57th in the nation, will face San Diego's Pierrik Ysern who is ranked 10th nationally in singles.

Luchici has compiled an overall 25-13 record this season at Carolina, playing primarily at the number one singles position. Luchici owns wins over seven nationally ranked players this season including Duke's Ludovic Walter (currently ranked 5th) and Florida State's Mat Cloer (currently rated 26th). Luchici is a two-time All-ACC selection and was named to the Dean's List in the spring semester.
