Petrone Named ACC Player Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Marcio Petrone, a senior from Bairro, Meireles, Brazil, led North Carolina to a 3-0 week with wins over No. 55 Brown, Clemson and No. 15 Virginia Commonwealth, thus earning Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors.

In singles action, Petrone downed all three opponents winning 6-2, 6-1 against Brown's Nick Malone, 6-3, 6-2 against Jamin Thompson of Clemson and 6-4, 7-6 versus VCU's Pedro Nieto.

Partnered with teammate Greg Archer, Petrone was also a perfect 3-0 in doubles action including an 8-2 victory over No. 7 Marquardt and Nieto of VCU.
