Tar Heel Action At Regional Ends Sunday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.--North Carolina's participation in the 2008 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mideast Regional at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center ended in a pair of singles losses to top seeded players Sunday afternoon. In doubles, the second-seeded team of UNC's Clay Donato and Taylor Fogleman withdrew because of injury. In singles, No. 16 seed Damon Gooch of Elon defeated Fogleman 7-6, 6-4. Third-seeded Guillermo Gomez of Georgia Tech defeated 15th-seeded Clay Donato of Carolina by an identical score. UNC is now finished with its fall season. UNC will compete next in January at the Duke Indoor Invitational followed by the dual match season starting later in January.
