Head Coach Sam Paul:

"Clemson has a great program and they have had enormous success under coach Chuck Kriese and they've always done things with class. I'm really proud of my team for the way we played today. We played great at the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 spots in the lineup. A nd Derek Porter was banged up but gave us his all today in both singles and doubles.

"After the rain delay I thought we came back and played singles with a lot more fire. I was initially concerned about the rain delay because we had so much momentum after doubles. The doubles point had given us a great boost of energy and I wanted to take advantage of that.

"We look forward to playing Ohio State. They have a great program. Right now we are just going to enjoy this one tonight."

Senior Derek Porter

"I did not want this to be my last match at Carolina. I told our guys to go out there today and put it all on the line. I have been hurting and I wanted the match to go as quickly as possible. I could never have been out there today were it not for the work of our training staff. They have been key in getting me ready to play every day this year.

"For the four seniors, this has just been a great year. It is a thrill to win our last match at home as Tar Heels. Our fans have been amazing in support of us all year, particularly today. Ohio State knocked us out of the NCAA Tournament my sophomore year so it is really meaningful to me to play them again. I lost the deciding match two years ago in the 4-3 decision and I am looking forward to getting a chance to play them again. It should be fun."
