CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The University of North Carolina men's tennis team rolled to an impressive 6-1 victory over Florida State Saturday afternoon. UNC remained undefeated in the ACC and tied atop the conference standings at 4-0 with archrival Duke.

Once again the Tar Heels grabbed the momentum early in the match, with impressive doubles play. Carolina won quickly at number two and three doubles. The Tar Heels have now won the doubles point in seven consecutive matches.

Sophomore Trystan Meniane captured the first singles victory for Carolina with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Bartogz Koldog. Meniane won his fifth consecutive singles match and his 16th victory overall. Seniors Chad Riley and David Cheatwood earned the third and fourth points respectively for the Tar Heels with straight set victories.

Greg Archer and Nicholas Monroe won UNC's final points. Monroe played fearlessly in two sets which both went to tiebreaks. Monroe is now 9-2 in dual matches this spring and 17-7 overall.

The Tar Heels (8-5, 4-0 in ACC) travel to Wake Forest for a crucial conference showdown on Wednesday, April 4 at 2 p.m. Florida State (9-9, 4-2 in ACC) plays at Duke on Sunday.
