Men's Tennis Team Has Easy Time With Brown

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina's 48th-ranked men's tennis team improved to 4-2 on the season Saturday afternoon as Coach Sam Paul's Tar Heels defeated the 70th-ranked Brown Bears 6-1 at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. Brown dropped to 1-3 on the season with the loss. UNC senior Tripp Phillips started the success for Carolina at #1 singles as he bested Justin Natale of Brown University 6-4, 6-2. Carolina senior Assaf Drori also won at #2 singles as he came back to beat Brown's Nick Malone, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5. Other Carolina singles victories were posted by sophomore Marcio Petrone at #3 singles, freshman Trystan Meniane at #5 singles and junior Chad Riley at #6 singles. Carolina also won the doubles point by sweeping all three matches.
