Tar Heels' Dworsky Named Academic All-America

Nov. 19, 2007

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina's leading scorer on the soccer field and a 4.0 student in the classroom, sophomore forward Bill Dworsky was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Third Team for men's soccer, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Monday.

A native of Huntsville, Ala., Dworsky finished the season as Carolina's leading scorer with 17 points on six goals and five assists. He saw action in all 20 games for the Tar Heels and started 17. Dworsky had a pair of multi-goal games on the year with two each in wins over Akron and Clemson.

Dworsky was one of two Tar Heels to earn Academic All-District III honors earlier this month, joining Eddie Ababio on the regional squad. Dworsky is the Tar Heels' first Academic All-America selection since Matt Crawford earned first-team accolades in 2002.
