Robinson Scores In International Debut

Jan. 22, 2008

CARSON, Calif. - Former North Carolina standout Eddie Robinson became just the 44th player in U.S. Soccer history to score in his international debut Saturday in a 2-0 victory over Sweden.

Robinson netted the first goal for the U.S. on a header off a deflected save in the 15th minute of action.

A native of Greensboro, Robinson has emerged as one of the top defenders in all of Major League Soccer with the two-time defending champion Houston Dynamo. He starred at Carolina from 1996-2000 and helped lead the Tar Heels to an ACC title as a senior.
