Robinson, McCarty In National Team Training Camps

CHICAGO - Former Tar Heels Eddie Robinson and Dax McCarty are currently training with their respective U.S. National Teams in preparation for upcoming international matches. Robinson is with the U.S. National Team in Carson, Calif., while McCarty is with the Under-23 squad in Bradenton, Fla. Robinson and the national team will play their first match of 2008, a friendly against Sweden, Jan. 19 at the Home Depot Center. The match will be broadcast live on the Fox Soccer Channel at 8:30 p.m. McCarty and the U-23s began training Jan. 6 and will go until Jan. 20 in preparation for the final round of the CONCACAF Under-23 Championship set for March 11-23 in Los Angeles, Tampa and Nashville. The two finalists from the eight-team tournament will advance to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
