Carolina Golfer Barden Berry Named All-America Scholar
July 12, 2007 NORMAN, OKLA. - University of North Carolina golfer Barden Berry has been named a 2006-07 Division I Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar as chosen by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Berry, a junior in 2006-07 from Kinston, N.C., carded five top-25 finishes this year on his way to a 73.97 stroke average. Earlier this summer, Berry was selected to the 2007 All-ACC Academic Men's Golf Team, his second consecutive appearance on that team. He has been named to UNC's Dean's List each semester since becoming a Tar Heel and earned a spot on the ACC Honor Roll in 2004-05 and 2005-06 (this year's ACC Honor Roll has not yet been selected). To be eligible to be chosen a Division I Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior with a 3.2 minimum cumulative grade-point average and must obtain a 76.0 stroke average.
