Martin Ureta Selected Honorable Mention All-America

Chapel Hill, N.C. - Martin Ureta, a sophomore on North Carolina's golf team, was selected Honorable Mention PING All-America by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Ureta captured one win this year, the Duke Fall Classic, for his first collegiate victory.

Ureta, from Santiago, Chile, was earlier selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team. He posted seven top-11 finishes and nine top-30 finishes this year. Ureta concluded the campaign with a 72.71 scoring average.

Ureta was the 2004 North and South Amateur champion and made it to the sectional qualifying for the 2005 U.S. Open.
