April 13, 2005

Chapel Hill, N.C. - North Carolina men's golf coach John Inman announces the addition of David Holzworth to the Tar Heel team in 2005-06.

Holzworth, from Chapel Hill, recently won the 2005 Mizuno Junior at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga. The East Chapel Hill High School standout tied for first place at the 2004 North and South Junior in Pinehurst. In addition, he posted fourth-place finishes at the 2004 AJGA Peninsula Club Championship in Cornelius, N.C., and the 2004 AJGA Greater Hartford Jaycees Junior in Kensington, Conn. Also in 2004, Holzworth tied for sixth place at the FCWT National Championship in LaQuinta, Calif.

"We are very excited to have David join our program next year," says Inman. "He has really taken his game to the next level and he will be a great homegrown addition to our team."

In addition to Holzworth, Robert Riesen, from Pinehurst, and Chase MacFarland, from Savannah, Ga., signed with the Tar Heels last fall and will join the golf team in 2005-06.
