Carolina Men's Golf Team In 10th Place After Second Round Of Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational

Statesboro, Ga. - The North Carolina men's golf team fired rounds of 299-296 for a 595 total and is in 10th place after two rounds of the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational. Tennessee carded rounds of 290-288 for a two-over-par 578 total to lead the field of 15 teams. Auburn is one stroke back in second place with a 579 total while South Carolina and Duke are tied for third place with 582 totals. Bronson LaCassie of Minnesota fired rounds of 72-68 for a four-under 140 to grab the individual lead. Four players are deadlocked two shots back in a tie for second place - South Carolina's Alex Hamilton, Georgia Southern's Jon David Kennedy, Auburn's Patton Kizzire and Tennessee's Ross McGowan. Doug Kingston led the way for the Tar Heels, firing a four-under 68 in the second round after shooting a 77 in the morning round. Kingston has a 145 total which put him in a tie for 11th place. Ted Smith is three strokes back with a 148 total and is tied for 23rd place after rounds of 73-75. Martin Ureta is tied for 40th place with a 151 total (74-77) while Jonathan Jackson is tied for 46th at 152 (75-77) and Matt Crenshaw is tied for 64th place with a 156 total (80-76). The final round of the 54-hole event will be played Sunday at the Forest Heights Country Club which features a par 72, 6,962-yard layout. TEAM STANDINGS (36 Holes)
