Tom O'Leary (15) and the Tar Heels head out for the 12:10 p.m. game (JP) against the Boston College Eagles.

Boston College won the toss and deferred their choice to the second half.

The Tar Heels defended the East end zone to start the game.

Wallace Wright (29) bobbles a short BC opening kickoff at the NC10, then picks it up...

...and reverses his field before breaking away...

...down the visitor's sidelines on his way to a...

...90-yard touchdown to give the Tar Heels a quick 7-0 lead.

Wright's (29) return gave the Tar Heels two opening kickoff returns for scores in the same season for the first time in school history. Brandon Tate (87) took the opening kickoff 96 yards against Wisconsin.

Quinton Porter (15) rushes for four yards and a first down at the NC29 on the Eagles' first possession.

Andre Callender (32) scores on a three-yard run to finish off the Eagles' opening drive and tie the score at 7-7 wiith 09:24 left in the first quarter.

Brandon Tate (87) returns the ensuing kickoff 21 yards to the NC24.

Two plays later, Ronnie McGill (25) picks up six yards to the NC30.

David Wooldridge (45) gets off a 40 yard punt as the Heels went three-and-out on their second possession. Wooldridge punted five times for a 43.8 yard average.

Andre Collander (32) gains 17 yards to the BC48 on the Eagles' ensuing possession.

On 2nd-and-8 from the BC50, Bryan Bethea (35) breaks up a pass intended for Taylor Sele (13).
