Jim Tatum played at Carolina as well as coaching in 1942 and 1956-58. Tatum died of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever the summer before the 1959 season.

End Art Weiner ('46-'49) was inducted into the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame on Jan. 7, 1992.

These are three NCAA trophies from 1996. They were awarded for team scoring defense, Dre' Bly's 11 interceptions, and team turn-over margin.

The 1892 team's 5-1 record was the best in the South that year. This was considered the first real year of football at Carolina.
