Nicks, Williams Enjoying ACC Kickoff

GREENSBORO, Ga. - The unofficial start of the football season is underway with the 2008 edition of the Atlantic Coast Conference Football Kickoff at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation. TarHeelBlue.com will cover the annual media outing from start to finish, so check back throughout the next two days for photo galleries, news and audio content. Hakeem Nicks and Deunta Williams are representing the Tar Heels this weekend and will meet with the media Sunday afternoon. The players split the marathon media session between the print media and a variety of television and radio stops. Butch Davis and the 11 other ACC coaches will make the interview rounds Monday.
The players kicked things off Saturday night with a trip to the driving range with some tips from the club pros (see photo gallery above). Both Nicks and Williams were limited in the golf experience department but both managed to lace a few drives well over 200 yards after just a few minutes of instruction. After dinner, the 24 players here squared off in a night putting contest, which was brought home by the Tar Heels and their Coastal Division teammates. |
