Dyer Named To All-ACC Academic Squad

Feb. 4, 2008

  • Complete All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina sophomore center Lowell Dyer earned a spot on the 40-member 2007 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Football Team announced Monday by Commissioner John Swofford.

To be eligible for consideration, a player must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career. All 12 ACC schools were represented by at least one selection on the team.

An English major, Dyer started five games for the Tar Heels last season in place of senior starter Scott Lenahan. The Durham native posted an 80 percent grade against Virginia and had four knockdown blocks at Virginia Tech.
