NFL Update: Wildcard Playoffs

Nine former Heels advance to the divisional playoffs. Jason Brown led the Ravens over Vonnie Holliday aand the Doplhins 27-9 Saturday, advancing to meet Alge Crumpler, David Thornton and the Tennessee Titans. Veteran center Jeff Saturday and the Colts fell short against the Chargers 23-17 in overtime.

Jason Brown, Baltimore - Center anchored offensive line helping the Ravens rush for over 100 yards in 27-9 win over Vonnie Holliday and the Dolphins. Brown and the Ravens will meet the Titans Saturday at 4:30 p.m ET.

Alge Crumpler, Tennessee-Tight end and the Titans will host Jason Brown and the Ravens Saturday at 4:30 p.m ET. Crumpler caught 24 passes for 257 yards in 15 games for the NFL's best 13-3 Titans.

Madison Hedgecock, NY Giants - Fullback and the Giants (12-4) will look to defend their Super Bowl crown starting against the Eagles Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Vonnie Holliday, Miami - Veteran defensive end recorded one tackle in 27-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The 11-year pro recorded 47 tackles and three-and-a-half sacks for the 11-5 Dolphins.

Willie Parker, Pittsburgh -Running back and the Steelers will host against the San Diego Chargers Sunday at 4:45 p.m. ET. Parker, who was plagued by injuries all season, rushed for nearly 800 yards in 11 games this season for the 12-4 Steelers. It was Parker's first time without rushing for over 1,000 yards since 2004.

Julius Peppers, Carolina -Veteran defensive end and the Panthers will face off against the Cardinals Saturday at 8:15 p.m. ET. Peppers enjoyed a pro bowl season with a career best 14.5 sacks leading the Panthers to a 12-4 record.

Jeff Reed, Pittsburgh - Veteran place kicker and the Steelers will host the San Diego Chargers Sunday at 4:45 p.m. ET. Reed, in his seventh season in the NFL, was 27-31 from field goals in 16 games this season for the playoff bound Steelers.

Jeff Saturday, Indianapolis - Veteran center anchored offensive line in 23-17 overtime loss to the Chargers in what could be the Colts last run with Coach Tony Dungy. Saturday, a ten-year pro, started 12 games at Center in 2008.

Hilee Taylor, Carolina - Rookie defensive end and Panthers will host the Arizona Cardinals Saturday at 8:15 p.m. ET. Taylor played in 10 games this season for the 12-4 Panthers.

David Thornton, Tennessee - Linebacker and the Titans will host Jason Brown and the Ravens Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET. Thornton recorded 78 tackles in 15 games for the NFL's best 13-3 Titans.

Greg Warren, Pittsburgh - Four-year pro as a long snapper tore his ACL in Week Seven as Steelers host Chargers Sunday at 4:45 p.m. ET.
