NORTH CAROLINA POSTGAME NOTES • VS. DUKE

• Tailback Ronnie McGill ran for a season-best 146 yards on a season-high 28 carries for his first 100-yard effort since going for 118 against Virginia Oct. 22. McGill now has four career 100-yard games. His 37-yard run on the first play of the game was his longest run of the season.

• Tailback Justin Warren rushed for a career-best 43 yards on four carries. His 31-yard carry in the second quarter was also a career best.

• Derrele Mitchell's second quarter touchdown reception was his second of the season and first since an 87-yard scoring play at Georgia Tech in the season opener.

• Carolina held the Blue Devils to minus-nine rushing yards in the first half. Duke finished the day with 81 yards in the game on 38 carries.

• Carolina had lost only six fumbles on the season coming into the game but lost two in the first quarter to help set up a 14-7 Duke lead after the opening period.

• Carolina had 25 first downs in the game, while Duke had 11.

Tommy Richardson's fourth-quarter interception to seal the win for Carolina was the first of his career. The Tar Heels tied their season high with three interceptions as a team (UNC also had three interceptions at Miami).
