Recap |  Box Score

Quincy Monk:
"This game was very big, there was a lot on the line. A winning season, a chance for a bowl bid. This game was very big for us."

Ronald Curry:
"My touchdown run was a quarterback draw. I just gave it an out fake, then I cut back in, and there was just one man to beat. On a draw play there's going to be one man unaccounted for, and that's the guy I have to make miss.

"I wasn't going to let them keep me out of the end zone.

"It's great to get a win and keep alive our chances for a bowl.

"Maryland was in the same position we were in. Hopefully, we can get a win next week. It was very important."

Jeff Reed:
"I knew before the season that I had a chance to be successful. I knew that it would be a year where people decide what to think of me, and what I think of myself, as far as football is concerned.

"It has worked out pretty well.

"I feel much better about my kickoffs now. Every time out there, I feel like I'm going to put it into the end zone. I mis-kicked one today, but we tackled him inside the twenty, so that's even better than a touchback.

"I haven't changed anything on my kickoffs. They're just coming around now."

Willie Parker:
"The offense didn't feel any pressure at all. We made up our minds in the fourth quarter to get the job done. I'm finally healthy and back at full speed. It feels good being back, playing the game I love.

"I felt I let the team down when I fumbled. But I had a couple of runs in the fourth quarter to get my confidence back.

"You have to give the defense an award. They were busting their tails.

"When the quarterback draw play was called (that Curry scored on), I'm thinking 'he's got to make a move.' Then there he goes, he made a move. As soon as he hit the end zone, I started celebrating.

"Ronald is amazing, but I'm kind of getting used to seeing him make those moves."

Ryan Sims:
"We knew coming in that they would probably go for it some on fourth down plays, so we just had to stop them. We did real well in that aspect.

"The goal line stand had a positive effect on our defense, and a negative effect on Maryland's offense.

"I guess there's a sense of urgency. I guess there are a few plays we could have made to win some games earlier in the year, but now we want to have a winning season and go to a bowl game.

"It's a very big game. We knew we had to win to have a chance to go to a bowl game. And we know we have to win next week to have a chance. We hated it last year, not being able to go to a bowl game."

Brandon Spoon:
"Lamont Jordan is a great running back. We gave it to him all game and attacked him all game.

"People have been saying to me, 'This is your last home game.' But I still have to go out and practice next week. I'm sure I will be emotional then.

"We refused to lose. We focused on what we had to do. We focused individually on every play.

"We're very excited, but we're not going to be happy with 5-6. Hopefully, we'll go to a bowl game if we win next week.

"The past two weeks, we concentrated on making the plays we had to make.

"I think Coach Torbush is a great coach. I think we have a great coaching staff. People are happy when we win, sad when we lose.

"Lamont Jordan tore us up last year. He had a couple of big runs today, but we kept him in check fairly well today. We wanted to go out and attack him early in the game.

"We (the defense) knew the offense was struggling, so we felt like the game was on our shoulders. We just went out and attacked and played with reckless abandon."
