2005 - Freshman Season
One of seven true freshmen to see playing time • Played in 10 games at fullback and on special teams • Scored on his only carry of the season, a 1-yard run at Louisville.

Charlotte Catholic High School
Played fullback and linebacker in high school • Ranked one of the top 35 players in North Carolina by SuperPrep • Led Charlotte Catholic to perfect 16-0 record and 2-AA state title • In state championship game (14-7 win over Western Alamance at Duke's Wallace Wade Stadium), earned game MVP honors after rushing 20 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns while catching one pass for 22 yards • Scored the game-winning touchdown with just 1:00 remaining in the fourth quarter • Also credited with seven tackles on defense in that game • Gained 1,994 yards on 222 carries and scored 30 touchdowns as a senior • Also caught two touchdown passes • Made 60 tackles • Rushed for more than 1,000 yards as a junior and helped Catholic finish 12-4 in the class 2-A • Coached by Jim Oddo.
