Former Tar Heel men's basketball forward Will Johnson has signed a contract to play professional basketball in Madrid, Spain. Johnson, a Morehead Scholar at Carolina who became an invaluable team leader over the last two seasons, is looking forward to the opportunity.

"It's still kind of hard to believe for me," Johnson told The Chapel Hill News in its July 27th edition. "I'm lucky. But I also feel like I've worked hard to prepare myself. When I got over there (for the tryout), I realized that all the work I put in for four years really had made me a much better player. I just tried to prove that, and I'll try to prove that this season."
