Sunday's game was the first time all season that Tyler Hansbrough (who averaged 8.2 free throws per game all season) did not attempt a free throw.
The four team free throws against George Mason were the fewest since Carolina attempted four against Clemson on March 2, 2004.
This year's team finished tenth in the final AP poll of the year. That's the highest finish for a Carolina team that began the season unranked in school history.
Carolina is 1-3 in their last three NCAA Tournament games as a 3 seed.
