Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun has a history of speaking plainly to the media. Some of his most quotable comments from the UNC-Connecticut series:
"They say this is a neutral site," he said before the 1998 East Regional final in Greensboro. "They have a 98-25 record in this building. If that's a neutral site, it's also creative math."
He called a key fourth foul against Emeka Okafor in the 2003 game "a joke" in his postgame press conference.
"I hear about the wine and cheese crowd and I don't know where the hell they are but they were not here today," he said after last year's Carolina win at the Smith Center. "That is the most bogus thing I have ever heard in my life. We were here last year, and the crowd was great, and this year the crowd was even greater. This is one heck of a home court advantage."
