Tuesday Talking Points

Feb. 6, 2007

By Adam Lucas

  • In the past 30 years, the Tar Heels have played 13 regular season games against Duke when coming off a loss. Carolina is 9-4 in those games.

  • Carolina hasn't lost back-to-back games to NC State and Duke since 1975. Back-to-back losses to the Triangle rivals have happened only three times in the ACC era (1954, 1955, 1975).

  • Reyshawn Terry failed to score in double figures in just three of Carolina's 18 ACC games (counting the ACC Tournament) last year. This year he has been held to single digits in six of Carolina's eight league games.

  • Ty Lawson's 21 points against NC State were the most by a freshman Carolina point guard since Raymond Felton scored 21 against Virginia on Feb. 12, 2003.

  • Carolina has played just 9 games with all three point guards healthy. The Tar Heels are 7-2 in those games.

  • Quentin Thomas's assist/turnover ratio on the road during his Carolina career is 1.23 (38 assists, 31 turnovers). His assist/turnover ratio in all other games, including the postseason, is 1.77 (122 assists, 69 turnovers).
