By Ben Baden CHAPEL HILL - The Tar Heels junior varsity team moved to 6-0 after an impressive performance against Central Carolina Community College (Sanford, N.C.), 111-71. The junior varsity team led 51-32 at half and never looked back as they increased their lead to 83-40 midway through the second half. After the game head coach Jerod Haase said he was impressed with his team's commitment as they all were able to pass their conditioning test on Monday after a seven week break. "The guys remembered the plays better than I did," Haase said. Brad Jones led the team in scoring with 15, shooting 6-9 from the field and 3-4 from the free-throw line. James Gallagher finished with 12 and led the team in rebounds with 8. Marcus Wilson, Ford Tanner and Claude Shields also finished in double figures. The team shot well from behind the arc finishing 8-18 as they put up their second highest point total of the year. The Tar Heels were efficient matching their season-low of turnovers with 12. Haase mostly substituted his players out in groups of five, and as a result all 14 players on the roster scored. The junior varsity team has an early game this Saturday at 9 a.m. against Asbury.
