Tar Heels Come Home

When the team bus rolled up to Boshamer Stadium at 3:45 on Tuesday, nearly 500 fans awaited them.
Ridge Road was blocked off from traffic to allow fans room to greet the team.
It was indeed the greatest season in Carolina's baseball history.
Jonathan Hovis, the only senior on the team, holds up the second-place trophy.
Hovis with Andrew Miller, the 6th pick in the recent MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers.
Tim Federowicz made the CWS All-Tournament team.
Everyone was exhausted, but delighted by the great reception.
The Tar Heels finished their 2006 season with a 54-15 record.
There is a new air of excitement surrounding Carolina baseball.
