LSU gets another crack at North Carolina tonight at 7 Eastern. It's also proving to be a second chance for Tiger outfielder Derek Helenihi, who is emerging from a slump. Of course, it's not like LSU needs another powerful bat, as they're already stacked in that department. The key will be pitching, and the Tigers will send lefty Blake Martin to the mound on his birthday. His parents came into town Wednesday night to make sure they were in Omaha for "the biggest game of his life."

Carolina, meanwhile, will turn to a freshman, as Matt Harvey will get the start. There's not much mystery to the game. Mike Fox says his team better play better than they did in a disappointing performance against Fresno State. The players are well aware of the situation, according to Chase Jones. Fresno State, meanwhile, is sitting back and getting their pitching back into shape.
