Cleveland Named Second-Team All America

TUCSON, Ariz.- North Carolina outfielder Jeremy Cleveland was named a second-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. The junior from Fairfax, Va. has played in all 62 games and is batting .414 with 19 home runs and 64 RBIs. As of May 31, Cleveland has 99 hits on the season which is the second most all time in a single season at Carolina. Brian Roberts holds the record with 102 hits which he recorded during the 1997 season.

Cleveland's 20 doubles tie him for seventh-most in a single season and his 19 home runs are good for sixth-place on the single season home runs list. Cleveland was the ACC's leading hitter during the regular season and was named first-team All-ACC for his remarkable season. Chris Maples and Adam Greenberg were named All-America by Collegiate Baseball in 2002. Maples was a first-team All-American while Greenberg was named to the third-team.
