CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Friday night's game between No. 10 North Carolina and Clemson was suspended in the bottom of the sixth inning due to a power outage in a portion of the lights at Boshamer Stadium. The Tigers are holding a 2-1 lead, and the Tar Heels have runners on first and second with no outs. The delay began at 8:31 p.m.

Play will resume at 1 p.m. Saturday, and all tickets purchased for Friday's game will be honored. The second game will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Friday's tickets will be honored for both games. The Carolina Kid's Club event will begin at 1 p.m. as planned.

Clemson starter Taylor Lumsden has worked five innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits and four walks. He has also fanned 10 Tar Heels, including seven of the nine batters the second time through the order.

Carolina's Daniel Bard has worked six innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits and no walks. He has struck out three.

First baseman Andy D'Alessio has two hits for Clemson, while Ross Cook is 2-for-3 for the Tar Heels.

The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the second when catcher Lou Santangelo, who led off the inning with a single up the middle, scored when right fielder Travis Storrer grounded into a double play.

After Bard and Lumsden each retired the side in order in the third and fourth innings, Clemson tacked on a run in the top of the fifth. D'Alessio singled to lead off the inning and later scored on an RBI single to right by shortstop Russell Triplett.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the inning, the Tar Heels got on the board thanks to a single by shortstop Greg Mangum and a fielding error by Tiger center fielder Garrick Evans. Following a walk to speedy center fielder Blair Waggett, Mangum singled to center and Evans misplayed the ball, allowing Waggett to cut the lead to 2-1 and Mangum to take second on the play.

After a walk to third baseman Sammy Hewitt, Cook singled in the bottom of the sixth. Left fielder Jay Cox will be at the plate when the game resumes.

Junior Garry Bakker is scheduled to start game two for the Tar Heels, while freshman Andrew Miller set to start on Sunday for Carolina.
