North Carolina and Seton Hall have met for a 3-game series each season since 1988 with the exception of 1990.

Daniel Bard (25) throws the first pitch of the game. The Tar Heels would go on to open their season with back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 1915.

Justin Webb (19) bats in the first as Greg Mangum (10) leads off first after opening the game with a walk. Webb would drive in Mangum with a double to left.

Jay Cox (21) homers to left...

...for a two-run shot that gave Carolina a 3-0 lead in the first. Cox was 3-4 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored.

Matt Ellington (13) slides safely into third in the first after Mike Daniel (38) flied out to center.

Reid Fronk (7) throws out Patrick Sullivan (10) for the first out in the second.
