JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Tickets to the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Baseball Tournament at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville are now on sale, Jacksonville Sports & Entertainment Board (SEB) Chair Harry Schnabel announced today at a press conference where he unveiled the 2005 baseball championship logo and schedule.

"Jacksonville is continuing to build momentum as a world-class sports city," said Schnabel. "The 2005 ACC Baseball Tournament, the Olympic Basketball team, the 2005 ACC Football Championship and the 2006 NCAA Basketball Tournament are testaments to the kinds of events Jacksonville is attracting. The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville is the ideal place to host the ACC Baseball Tournament."

The 2005 ACC Baseball Championship is scheduled for May 24-29. Over the course of the week, all 11 ACC schools will compete for the ACC's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. Three opening-round games are scheduled for Tuesday, four on Wednesday, four on Thursday, two on Friday and two, possibly four, on Saturday before a champion is decided on Sunday. Teams represented in the ACC include: Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Boston College will join the ACC in 2006. The Jacksonville SEB has partnered with the Jacksonville Suns for ticket sales. All ticket sales will be directed through the Suns box office.

"The Suns are excited to partner with the Jacksonville Sports & Entertainment Board in what is one of the premiere baseball events in the country," said Peter Bragan, Jr., general manager of the Jacksonville Suns. "We look forward to filling the stadium all week with great baseball fans from North Florida." A full tournament general admission ticket package is $50, which includes a total of 16 - 18 games. Homeplate box seats can be purchased for $85 and dugout box seats for $150. All of these packages include Sunday's ACC Baseball Championship game.
