CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - In the shadow of the construction of their new home, the North Carolina baseball hit the field for the first time as a team in 2008 Wednesday. The Tar Heels, who are allowed two hours of skill work per player each week, held a brief team session on their home turf. Full team practice will begin Feb. 1.

Construction is continuing at a rapid pace as the steel beams that will make up the structure of the new facility are put in place. Stay tuned to TarHeelBlue.com for frequent construction updates.
