Redshirt season • Did not see any game action for the Tar Heels. Summer 2008: Hit .286 (8-28) with two home runs and a double for the Florida Legends of the Great South League • Also drove in eight runs.

Four-year standout pitcher and first baseman at Chapel Hill High School for coach David Miller • Earned all-conference honors on four occasions • Two-time runner-up for conference player of the year honors • Led team to conference titles in 2004 and 2005 • Played summer ball with American Legion Post 6 in 2005 and 2006 and Post 7 in 2007.

Tarron Alonzo Robinson is the son of Steve and Lisa Robinson • Born Aug. 5, 1988, in Ithaca, N.Y. • Has one brother and two sisters • Has not declared a major at Carolina • Father is an assistant coach with the UNC men's basketball team • Lists "300" as his favorite movie • Favorite MLB teams are the Boston Red Sox and Oakland A's • Also follows the Miami Heat, New England Patriots and Carolina basketball • Would like to switch places for a day with Mark Cuban • Keeps two pennies in his back right pocket when on the field.
