AS A FRESHMAN (2006)
Saw action in 16 games in the outfield and as a key pinch runner • Scored five runs on the year and stole one base • Went 1-for-6 at the plate • First career hit and RBI came against Davidson April 5 • Scored two runs in ACC play. Summer 2006: Hit .265 in 13 games with Monroe of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League • Drove in three runs and scored seven times • Had one triple.
EAST MECKLENBURG HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year standout in the outfield for coach Chet Greason at East Mecklenburg High School • Earned all-conference honors as a senior and was named the team's outfield MVP as a junior • Also played four years of football and earned all-conference honors as a senior • Played wide receiver, defensive back and punter • Served as student body president as a senior • Honor roll student all four years and a member of the National Honor Society. Summer 2005: Played with American Legion Post 262 and led the team in batting average.
