SOPHOMORE (2008)
Emerged as the Tar Heels' starting shortstop during the NCAA Tournament, earning the nod in the final 10 games due to outstanding glove work and timely hitting • Saw action in 54 games and made 22 starts at shortstop and designated hitter • For the season, hit .253 (25-99) with six doubles and seven RBI • Also drew 12 walks and reached base at a .333 clip • Went 3-for-12 as a pinch hitter • Was at his best in the postseason, batting .294 (10-34) with 10 runs and two RBI • Recorded three of his five multi-hit games in the NCAA Tournament • Started at shortstop in all three NCAA Cary Regional games and earned a spot on the all-tournament team after batting .300 (3-10) and playing flawless defense • Posted career highs of three hits and three runs in the opening game of the regional versus Mount St. Mary's May 30 • Matched that career high with three hits against No. 2 LSU June 15 in the first game of the College World Series • Went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI in the Cary Super Regional clincher against No. 9 Coastal Carolina • Also added two hits against FAU Feb. 24 in first career start and versus Princeton March 19 • Went 3-for-6 in the series win at No. 24 Virginia for a career-best three-game hitting streak May 9-11 • Went 6-for-27 in ACC play with hits off the bench against NC State and Boston College. Summer 2008: Hit .247 (22-89) in 26 games, all starts, for the Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League • Drove in 12 runs and added one home run and one double • Also earned a save with one scoreless inning of relief on the mound.
FRESHMAN (2007)
Played in 12 games, primarily at shortstop • Hit .231 (3-for-13) with a double and three RBI • Recorded a pinch-hit RBI double against Seton Hall Feb. 18 in his first career at-bat • Hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to drive in a run in game two of the Stony Brook doubleheader Feb. 24 • Singled and picked up an RBI against Temple March 7 • Also picked up a pinch-hit single at Virginia Tech March 25 • Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll and earned Dean's List honors in the fall semester. Summer 2007: Played with the Wilson Tobs of the Coastal Plain League • Batted .191 in 37 games, including 31 starts • Had 22 hits, six doubles, 15 RBI and nine runs scored.

Played shortstop and pitched for coach Ronald Vincent at J.H. Rose High School • Two-time all-conference and all-area selection • Helped lead team to 2004 North Carolina 4A state title • Played in the 2006 North Carolina East-West All-Star Game and the North Carolina-South Carolina game • Played in the N.C.
