Four-year varsity standout at Wilmington's Hoggard High School • Three-time all-conference choice and earned all-state honors at third base as a senior • Played in the North Carolina State Games twice • Selected to the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game as a senior • Three-year member of the A-B Honor Roll. Played with the Bayside Yankees of the NABF in the summer of 2005 and hit .384.
