SOPHOMORE (2009)
Had a breakout season as a sophomore • Started all 66 games in left field and finished third among regulars with a .336 average (92-274) • Ranked second on the team with 63 runs scored and added 12 doubles, four triples and two home runs • Tallied 37 RBI, a .431 slugging percentage and a .423 on-base mark • Finished sixth in the ACC in hits, eighth in runs scored and tied for fourth in triples • Posted three or more hits on 11 occasions and recorded 28 multi-hit games after having just four in 2008 • Added 11 multi-RBI games • Hit .268 (33-123) with 15 RBI and 19 runs scored in ACC play • Batted .447 (17-41) over a career-best nine-game hitting streak from May 16-June 7 • Named to the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional All-Tournament Team after hitting .462 (6-13) and recording multiple hits in all three games • Tied a career-high with three RBI versus No. 15 Coastal Carolina May 30 • Hit .382 (13-34) with 13 runs scored and five RBI in the NCAA Tournament • In Omaha, batted .385 (5-13) with four runs and two RBI • Went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI against Southern Miss June 16 • Was 2-for-3 against No. 2 Arizona State June 18 • Led team with a .500 average (6-12) at the ACC Tournament and 3-for-5 versus No. 13 Clemson May 23 • Went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI at Boston College May 16 • Tied a school record with two triples and went 3-for-5 with three runs and a career-best three RBI versus Winthrop April 15 • Went 3-for-5 at No. 20 Florida State April 11 • Recorded second career four-hit game at No. 3 Georgia Tech April 5 • Was 3-for-4 with three runs and a two-run home run versus Duke March 20 • Went 3-for-5 with three runs versus Princeton March 17 • Tallied a career-best four hits and scored twice in the win over Appalachian State March 11 and was 3-for-4 with three runs and a solo homer against the Mountaineers March 10 • Went 2-for-5 with two RBI against No. 18 Clemson March 6 • Made first start in the leadoff spot versus Gardner-Webb March 4 and responded with three hits and two runs • Led UNC with a .389 average (7-18) over the week of Feb. 23-March 1. Summer 2009: Played in eight games and made seven starts for the Asheboro Copperheads of the Coastal Plain League • Hit .250 (6-24) with seven runs, one homer and three RBI.
FRESHMAN (2008)
Speedy reserve saw action in 42 games, starting 16 in the outfield and one at designated hitter • Hit .227 (17-75) with one home run, two doubles and 11 RBI • Also scored 13 runs and stole two bases • Posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in the outfield • Hit safely in four straight games Feb. 29-March 4 • Hit .320 (8-25) with runners in scoring position • Batted .219 (7-32) with nine runs scored in ACC play • Had a career-best two hits on four occasions • Went 2-for-4 against Old Dominion Feb. 26 in his first career start • Also went 2-for-4 with an RBI against William & Mary March 4 • Was 2-for-3 with a career-high four runs scored against Virginia Tech March 14 • Went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI versus Boston College April 20 • Drove in a career-high two runs against Kent State Feb. 29, Princeton March 18 and at Duke March 8 • First career home run came against the Blue Devils, a two-run shot, March 8 • Saw action against LSU in the College World Series June 19. Summer 2008: Hit .243 (26-107) in 29 games, all starts, for the Asheboro Copperheads of the Coastal Plain League • Drove in five runs and stole seven bases in nine attempts.

Four-year standout at Randleman High School for coach David Brown • Three-time all-state and all-conference selection • Named conference player of the year once and county player of the year on two occasions • Two-time all-county selection • Named to the 2007 Impact Dream Team and rated the No. 5 prospect in the state by Impact Baseball • Member of the Beta Club and Key Club • Played summer ball with American Legion Post 45 and batted .465.
