Jared John Bard is the son of Paul and Kathy Bard • Born in Charlotte • Has two brothers • Has not declared a major at Carolina • Older brother Daniel was a standout pitcher at UNC and a first-round draft pick of the Boston Red Sox in 2006 • Father played at Tufts University and in the Orioles and Dodgers organizations • Favorite pro teams are the Carolina Panthers and Boston Red Sox • Lists "Fight Club" as his favorite movie and the Bible has his favorite book • Enjoys golf, fishing and listening to music.
