Flanagan Chosen As ACC Cross Country Performer Of The Week

Chapel Hill, N.C. - Shalane Flanagan was chosen ACC Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week after winning the Great American meet on Sept. 26.

Flanagan, a senior from Marblehead, Mass., took top honors at the Great American Cross Country Festival for the second consecutive year. Her 16:44.6 first-place finish was 23 seconds ahead of the next runner to cross the line. Flanagan was the first of six Tar Heels to cross the line in the top ten, leading North Carolina to a second-place team finish.

University of Virginia's Will Christian was selected as the Men's ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week.
